About this sponge
Coarser on purpose. Used twice a week rather than daily, to lift the dead skin from the body.
From the shallow water, like the grass sponge, but cut and graded for texture rather than softness.

Looking after it
After every use, rinse it through with plenty of water until nothing is left inside it. Shampoo and shower gel are what shorten a sponge's life. Squeeze the water out and leave it somewhere with air around it to dry.
Once or twice a month, soak it for a quarter of an hour in warm water (warm, not hot) with a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda.
Treated this way it lasts years. Left wet in the corner of the shower, it will not.
