About this sponge

The finest we sell. A quality, from sixty to seventy metres down, with pores so small the surface is almost smooth. Velvety is the word we use in the shop, and it is the right one.

Every sponge here is soft. This is the softest, which is why it is the one we hand to somebody buying for a baby.

Looking after it

After every use, rinse it through with plenty of water until nothing is left inside it. Shampoo and shower gel are what shorten a sponge's life. Squeeze the water out and leave it somewhere with air around it to dry.

Once or twice a month, soak it for a quarter of an hour in warm water (warm, not hot) with a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda.

Treated this way it lasts years. Left wet in the corner of the shower, it will not.
